Why do I practice yoga?

A short and sweet poem here with a few of my reflections on the why’s that bring us to practice again and again. It really is a life-long practice. Changing and enriching us in sometimes the most unexpected ways.

Why do you practice yoga?

-

To feel

the space between the bones,

the space between the thoughts,

the space within the heart.

To find the quieter spaces of ourselves that we’ve forgotten we even have.

To play, to challenge and to question what it means to be in a body.

To learn how it feels to fall.

To meet ourselves. And to find comfort in the ways we meet others.

To know somewhere where we can find be acceptance and wholeness, without needing to perform or match expectation.

To receive.

To be.
